Struggling

I'm not sure the direction this post will go, I just know I have so many thoughts and feelings swirling around in my head and I hoped getting them out will help me feel better. Since I've come home from staying at my mom's a week I've struggled to get back to normal. I have been falling behind on house work and having trouble catching up. I am so tired all the time and just don't have the energy for most things. I have been focusing on the main chores like dishes and laundry and everything else is kind of just lacking. With Mackinley in camp this week I have been extra exhausted, having to get up earlier and then I have the stress and anxiety of driving and going out to drop her off and pick her up. I have just felt so tired, I've even napped a couple times this week. And I hate naps, but they have been so needed. Not only have I been tired, I have been really distracted in my mind and having trouble focusing. I have not been able to focus to play any of my game...

The Week Behind and Week Ahead

This past week I tried hard to get back on a schedule and routine after staying at mom's all the previous week. Monday I just literally tried to relax and do nothing. I watched a lot of my shows, and sat around on the couch. I think all I did that was productive was a few dishes and tiny bit of unpacking from the week before. Tuesday the kids had dentist appointments in the morning which went very well, they are both all clear, no cavities. The rest of the day I tried to get a few things done, mainly laundry. Wednesday we went and had lunch at the park with my friend (M) and her kids and played for just a little bit. Thursday Lucas' teacher came. Friday we went to James' parents house to celebrate his birthday. We had pizza and cupcakes and the kids played. Saturday we spent a few hours at my mom's house trying to get the liner fixed in the pool and helping with some yard work. Sunday was James' birthday and we got up in the morning and made him cinnamon rolls. Mack...

Super Long Week

The past week was very long, very crazy, very exhausting, just as I had predicted it might be. Last Monday was Memorial Day and we had a cookout at mom's and hung out. The kids and I brought stuff because we stayed over there all week. Six nights.  Tuesday we didn't do a ton. A little yard sale prep, a little clean up from Monday. The kids and I ran home for a little bit and did a couple loads of laundry, grabbed more stuff, watered plants, etc. Wednesday the kids and I ran home again but really only for watering plants and grabbing some more stuff. We also made a quick stop at the library. I made dinner Wednesday. And we started setting up tables and canopies for yard sale. Thursday we spent the whole day unpacking boxes, laying stuff out on tables, hanging clothes, pricing things and getting ready for the yard sale. And Lucas' teacher came for a little bit over there and they played with squirt guns, the swing and the trampoline. Friday and Saturday we had the yard sale a...

First Few Days of Summer

School for Mackinley was supposed to run through the 26th, but being digital and needing to turn in computers, her year got cut a little short. No complaints here. So her last day with a morning meeting was Tuesday, but her last day with anything for school was Wednesday. On Wednesday morning she had a party/picnic at school with her classmates. By noon Wednesday, it was done and summer break started! Wednesday after her party, we had lunch and snacks and laid around on the couch and watched most of Son of Bigfoot. Lucas went down for a nap and Mackinley worked and played in her room for a little bit. We got Subway for dinner, Mackinley's choice. And we had some no bake Oreo dessert James had made Tuesday, for after our dinner. Then we played some video games for a little bit. We played Sonic Racing, a little Mario Kart, and then Carnival Games. After that we took a long walk, both kids took their bikes and James and I walked. Thursday was our first full day of summer break, but it...

Last Week of School

I had a hard mental day Sunday, but Saturday was pretty nice. We went to Olentangy Caverns for our May experience gift. So for those not familiar, for Christmas we give the kids 12 envelopes with an activity planned for each month of the following year and we open them on the first of each month and then complete the pre-planned activity sometime during that month. For January we had a game day and played with board games and card games and also did fun things with Lucas like hot wheels, blocks, rice sensory bins, etc. For February we had a pizza picnic in the living room, watched a movie and baked some cookies. For March we took our spring break vacation to Hocking Hills. For April we planned a long bike ride and picnic, however we haven't yet got to do that one because James needs to fix the tire on his bike. And then May was Olentangy Caverns. It was a nice place. They have a lot of different things to do. We started off with the treasure hunt maze. You go through this maze and ...

Paramount Plus Week

This week is probably my least enjoyable streaming program. I got Paramount with the hopes of being able to keep up on my MTV shows, but they haven't been keeping them updated on here so there weren't new episodes for me to watch of most of my shows. I found a few shows on here though that I really enjoyed, and finished. Tell Me A Story and Why Women Kill were both fantastic. As always, if you're not interested in my television streaming preferences, move along.  First on my rotation is a reality show called Love Island. I am one episode away from finishing the first season and then I think I will take a break from this one. It wasn't as good as I had expected, and I have a few more new shows to watch that I am more interested in at the moment.  Next is the new show True Lies. I used to absolutely LOVE the old movie True Lies when I was younger. And I love love love Steve Howey in everything I've seen him in (Reba and Shameless mainly). I have only watched the first...

Neurodivergent

My previous therapist (I am in the process of waiting for a new one, although the change is not because of anything in this post), told me one day that he thinks I may have some form of neurodiversity. His first thoughts were Autism or ADHD. Hearing this news just sort of shocked me. Never in my life did I consider myself Autistic or having any symptoms of ADHD. It was actually quite depressing for a while because it made me second guess my whole life, especially when my mom said she wasn't surprised and that she could see that. I felt so shocked and helpless. Like how could I have not known my whole life, or how could my life have been different if I had known. I really took time to pay attention to myself and my actions and feelings for a while, along with researching more information about Autism and ADHD. I still don't feel like ADHD could be what I have. The biggest reason my therapist mentions this is because a lot of time I jump from one task to another without fully com...
